Entre el 6 y 9 de julio se realizó en Denver, Estados Unidos, la 53rd International Annual Meeting de la Society for Psychotherapy Research (SPR). En esta oportunidad 21 investigadoras e investigadores de MIDAP, nueve estudiantes adscritos/as al Instituto, y dos ayudantes de investigación, participaron con sus trabajos, tanto de manera presencial como remota. En esta oportunidad, el Investigador Postdoctoral Yamil Quevedo, la estudiante de doctorado Mahaira Reinel y el estudiante de magíster Jesús Vidal obtuvieron el SPR Student Travel Award, para asistir de manera presencial al evento.
Por otra parte, las estudiantes de pregrado de la Facultad de Psicología UDP, adscritos a MIDAP, Carla Vásquez, María Victoria Díaz y Francisca Avilés, obtuvieron el 3er lugar en el “Lester Luborsky Student Poster award”, con el trabajo titulado “It feels like you’re not alone”: peer support for bipolar patients, a review”, resultado de una práctica electiva dirigida por la Investigadora Joven Javiera Duarte.
Además, en esta instancia el Investigador Asociado Claudio Martínez asumió oficialmente como presidente del Capítulo Latinoamericano, sucediendo al Investigador Joven Daniel Espinosa, en el cargo hasta el nombramiento en esta reunión.
«El comité ejecutivo de la SPR me invitó, en calidad de presidente electo del Capítulo Latinoamericano, a participar de las reuniones del comité que se realiza antes del inicio del congreso, acompañando a Daniel Espinosa, quien era hasta ahora el presidente del capítulo. Dentro del congreso, en la reunión con el resto del capítulo, Daniel me hizo entrega del cargo y luego hizo el último reporte de las actividades de los últimos dos años», relata Martínez, y agrega que «fue un momento súper grato. Mis expectativas son ayudar al capítulo a que se ordene en su estructura y, por sobre todas las cosas, volver a encontrarnos. Han sido dos años en pandemia, sin vernos. Más que una búsqueda de crecimiento o expansión, mi primera tarea es estimular que nos encontremos nuevamente, más directamente, todos quienes somos parte del capítulo. Ya estamos trabajando para el próximo año retomar el congreso de Reñaca, que se hacía de manera presencial cada dos años y era un espacio para compartir, entre investigadores y clínicos». Sobre la participación de MIDAP en el congreso, Martínez señala que «tuvo una buena representación en varios sentidos, presentaron tanto investigadores/as como estudiantes, por lo que creo que hubo una representación bastante activa».
